zabnik in the void is the first place i saw one of my backup reminder buttons in the wild! cool! anyway, the site is just loads of fun and a great example of a personal web site that looks awesome on mobile. this led me to... the mixtape pixel club created by chaotic goode (i might not have mentioned this yet, but i have a bit of a thing for cassettes so im definitely joining this one!)

next are a couple of sites who also linked to me first (i must be doing something right:)

bea's room caught my attention, not only because she was showing one of my new buttons, but with her section on mental health: a topic i've been wondering if/when/how to talk about on here. thanks, bea, for the inspiration!

Aque's Pond is a fairly new site with loads of potential and another nice responsive layout (with a big emphasis on accessibility.) they even made some awesome 88x31 buttons for their site in response to my email. it was my pleasure to be the first to install your button!

finally, re:src is a brand new site providing tech tutorials specifically to help beginners get the most out of indie platforms like neocities. i tested the cloudflare/guestbook code over on nekoweb and it worked perfectly. the author accepts requests/votes for the next topic, cool!

quite interesting fact: i named it /admin at first, but neocities wouldn't let me browse to it. must be a reserved name.

the webmentions project has sort of paused for the moment while the dust settles and i review where i am with it all (and read a few more opinions)

i have a backup of my files, so i could have relaunched or mirrored the site on a different hosting provider (like nekoweb), should i need to. but i don't really want to leave neocities, so i decided to wait for the problem to be fixed (which it is now).

so what i actually did during the outage is created a nekoweb account and built myself a second web site, a home-away-from-home: Shen in Orbit!

(well actually ive dug out a bit of my php code from an ancient project and rewritten it in js)

fixed a few minor html errors on the home page. i'm valid, baby! (well, one page is for now anyway.)
